Natural Product Library
Cetek owns a premium large collection of natural products with broad
chemical diversity. The library was sourced world-wide from a wide
range of geographies and environments and from organisms that produce
bioactive, drug-like compounds. There are over 100,000 extracts in
the library, originating from the fermentation of about 18,000 microbial
strains. The strains are grown under multiple conditions that have
been optimized for maximum diversity in bioactive compound production.
Cetek’s extract collection is expanding at a rate of several
thousand extracts per month.
ChemSelect Library
Cetek is building a unique, high-quality natural product inspired library
that combines bioactivity and structural information inherent in natural
products with the facility and power of synthetic chemistry and chemical
biology. The ChemSelect Library contains the diversity of
natural products and incorporates key strengths of synthetic chemistry,
such as scalability, ease of optimization, rapid re-supply and availability
as single compounds. ChemSelect is designed as the largest,
most diverse, user friendly library of single unique compounds derived
from natural products available for drug screening and simple follow
up. This library includes novel structural motifs designed for the
major classes of therapeutic drug targets. The ChemSelect Library will
be available for strategic alliance partners in the fourth quarter
of 2006.
